Quarterback is not only the most important position in football, but perhaps in sports as well. So, it’s only natural that college football fans would be interested in recruiting for this position.
With fall camps starting across the country and the season quickly approaching, let’s take a look at where each team stands in the recruiting department at the position.
Here are all the contributions from 16 quarterbacks U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission program.
Alabama
Alabama has one of the best quarterbacks in the class, which shouldn’t shock anyone. Russell had perhaps the most important offseason of any player in the country, winning the Elite 11 finals, Opponent five stars The QB challenge, the outstanding performance in 7v7, it all made his ranking and stock soar.
The Duncanville product is seeking a third straight state title in Texas 6A, one of the toughest divisions in the country.
Arkansas
The Razorbacks retained one of their own for assignment in the 2025 class. Wilson is one of the longest-tenured players in the class, committing in April 2023.
Arkansas’ quarterback room is covered for at least one season, but it could turn into a battle for the job when Wilson arrives on campus.
Georgia
Montomeri has been with the Bulldogs since April, which certainly bolsters his status as a blue-chip prospect in this class. He was outstanding in the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles, displaying tremendous arm strength and a phenomenal pro day performance.
The Ohio native is making his way into Georgia’s quarterback room, and there will be some battles here when he arrives in Athens.
kentucky
The only class in the SEC with two commits at quarterback. Kentucky really showed their type with Sanders at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds and Ward at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. Two-man quarterback classes are always fun because they’re guaranteed to have an opponent when they arrive on campus.
Sanders is far and away the most efficient of the bunch, having thrown for 10,142 yards and 156 touchdowns to just 15 interceptions. While Ward isn’t as accomplished statistically, he has been playing since his freshman season. Kentucky will welcome a pair of rookies with plenty of experience in football.
Louisiana State University
As time goes on, Bryce Underwood will be in the conversation for the No. 1 spot in the 2025 class. One of the best college prospects at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds with an elite arm. We didn’t see a lot of Underwood in the offseason compared to other top quarterback prospects, but his talent is undeniable.
Will be an early contributor for LSU, who will likely be looking for a new starter within a year or two of Underwood arriving on campus.
mississippi
Taylor has one of the strongest arms in the class and is a perfect fit for Jeff Lebby’s offense. He’s a quarterback who can undoubtedly throw the ball across the field and attack downfield. Great frame at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, and will certainly be useful in the SEC.
Accuracy will be Taylor’s biggest area of development, and he can be a little inconsistent at times, but that should come with time as he grows his arm and adjusts to Mississippi State’s system.
Missouri
Zollers has attracted quite a bit of attention this offseason, and while he didn’t have a stellar performance in the Elite 11 finals, there’s no doubting the potential. Zollers is another potential early contributor in this class who will enter Missouri’s quarterback room in search of a new starter.
He offers a chance to make a difference in an RPO-driven offense, and while he may not run for 1,000 yards, he’s more than capable of being a threat on the ground. His game needs some refinement and overall development, but there are upsides to his game.
Oklahoma
Sperry is known as one of the top quarterbacks in the class. He’s 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, and you’ll rarely see him make a big mistake. He has a solid foundation in mechanics and is generally able to get his point across smoothly. Didn’t have the biggest arm, but was very accurate, completing nearly 70% of his passes at a young age.
Heading to Oklahoma State, which often has big playmakers at wide receiver, so spreading the ball around won’t be an issue for Sperry.
south carolina
Woods is another quarterback who stayed in-state for college and is the team’s most recent addition. The quote list isn’t quite like some of the others on this list, but Woods happens to be one of the most productive members of the list. Woods is headed to South Carolina, where he passed for 7,756 yards, 77 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in his three years as a prep player. He will likely have over 10,000 career passing yards.
Tennessee
McIntyre is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the class, but we haven’t seen him in person in a while. He missed most of the offseason due to injury, so his senior season will be important for an updated evaluation.
As a junior, he threw for just over 3,200 yards and 28 touchdowns. At 6-foot-5, he is one of the tallest quarterbacks in the class. There’s a lot to like about the Tennessee commit, but it’s important for us to see him live this year.
Texas
One of the most entertaining quarterbacks in the class at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. There were some ups and downs in the 7v7 and camp scenes, but Friday night was nothing but lights out.
With Austin’s Arch Manning waiting in the wings, Lacy may have to be patient before his time comes, but with available playmakers and Steve Sarkisian leading the way Coming to a scoring offense, it’s hard to believe Lacey won’t be successful at some point against Texas.
Texas A&M University
He has one of the strongest arms in his class and showed off accuracy during this summer’s Elite 11 finals in Los Angeles. Longstreet was praised by his peers for his pitching skills. Joins a new coaching system in College Station, but Texas A&M’s offensive style still needs to be learned. But with Longstreet’s arm talent, I have to imagine they’ll be looking to attack through the air.
Schools without QB commit:
Florida State, Auburn State, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt State
