The Secret Service announced they are investigating an incident at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
A spokesman for the Secret Service issued a statement: “On the evening of July 13, an incident occurred at Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures to ensure the safety of the former president. Currently, the Secret Service is conducting an active investigation. We will announce further information as it becomes available.
As Trump ranted about immigration, just after he asked for permission to stop using the teleprompter, shots rang out and the former president grabbed the side of his head.

In an election year filled with tension and controversy on all fronts, the last thing the country needs is someone potentially trying to shoot a candidate.
This behavior is not democratic.
Yes, Trump is trying to destroy democracy, but responding to these attempts with political violence is undemocratic.
The way to respond to anti-democratic politicians like Donald Trump is to defeat them at the ballot box.
What happened to Butler should not happen to anyone in a democracy, not even Donald Trump.
