Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) went on Fox News Sunday to lay out the facts about Vice President Kamala Harris and the border.
“I’ve seen data that shows that in the three Northern Triangle countries that Kamala Harris is responsible for stemming, immigration from those countries has dropped by 50 to 60 percent,” Senator Murphy said. “It started at a higher level. , driven in part by a series of crises during the Trump administration, driven in part by a surge in travel from countries such as Venezuela, which has been plunged into economic crisis by the policies of Donald Trump. Given a significant but separate mandate, she was able to significantly reduce immigration from those countries and, similarly, there are fewer crossings on the southwest border today than at the end of the Trump administration.

Trump decided to make the border an issue of his campaign, but because he could not campaign on a real record of his failure on the border, the former president had to campaign on an imagined contrast that was unreal. Trump’s record on the border is a failure.
Only Donald Trump could fail and make this the main issue in the next election.
Vice President Harris is no border czar, but she has done a good job reducing immigration in the Northern Triangle.
Chris Murphy went on Fox News on Sunday to deliver some needed truth. If Republicans want to make the border an issue, they may end up regretting it.
