Seven people were injured, four of them seriously, in a shooting late Saturday night in Long Beach, police said.
The shooting happened near South Street and Paramount Avenue on Saturday around 11:15 p.m., according to a bulletin from the Long Beach Police Department.
At least two men are suspected of shooting at the group, the department said in an update Sunday morning. All victims were adult males.
Video of the aftermath posted on social media showed a heavy police presence outside the nearby Prendido de Noche nightclub.
“This police department is committed to apprehending any violent offender who uses a dangerous firearm to harm our community,” Police Chief Wally Herbish said in a statement. “The Long Beach Police Department has been actively investigating this incident since late last night. shooting and we will continue to work until those involved in this unacceptable act of gun violence are identified and arrested.”
Police said the department believes the shooting was “gang-related,” but so far no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
