OneKey MLS New York has selected AI productivity solution Sidekick as a new software option for members, Inman has learned.
A July 22 press release said the parties reached an agreement on the benefits the app will bring to OneKey’s more than 45,000 agents. Sidekick was spun off from independent brokerage Avenue 8, which recently shuttered its operations to focus resources on the growth of its AI workflow-enhancing products.
“We are excited to join forces with OneKey MLS to support its members in leveraging artificial intelligence to launch and grow their businesses,” Sidekick co-founder and co-CEO Michael Martin said in a statement. “We have been doing this since we first started building the product. “Expanding Sidekick’s customer base into New York is an exciting time for us.”
The company recently closed deals with the San Francisco Association of Realtors (SFAR), Miami REALTORS, BeachesMLS and the Greater Los Angeles MLS.
Released in November 2023, Sidekick has rapidly grown its impact on Avenue 8 agents as an internal workflow catalyst and allows for fast, direct feedback, which is particularly effective for generative AI models.
“It’s critical that agents demonstrate value in two areas: specific knowledge and speed,” Martin told Inman in November. “Many people have the former, but the latter is a limitation. Even if you have been in the industry for 20-30 years, the ability to quickly generate, analyze and assemble information across multiple modalities is extremely challenging. This is not the same as having It’s not about personality, face or name – it’s about function and speed.
To the uninitiated, Sidekick appears largely as a task request prompt, capable of handling complex discussions and accessing third-party data resources to complete its many different chores. It can create social media posts from raw data, produce market reports, CMAs, and many other critical but time-consuming marketing, customer service, and deal management agency projects. Training it using an in-house proprietary dataset also has a huge advantage.
The OneKey team is also excited about its new software partnership, saying in a press release that it plans to use the technology to help its members better understand the power of artificial intelligence in the modern real estate workplace.
“Our mission is to help our real estate professionals be more successful in their business activities,” OneKey CEO Richard Haggerty said in the release. “By partnering with Sidekick, we are equipping our members with state-of-the-art artificial intelligence Smart tools that enable them to work smarter, faster and more efficiently.”
Sidekick is built on the OpenAI product, but it is not just a repackaged product; instead, it provides customized and deep integration with its user systems.
As Martin said in November, Sidekick’s real value lies in its expediency. While the idea of ”getting ahead fast” is traditionally rooted in being the first to respond to a prospect, being fast alone is not enough, especially given how abundant CRM-based response automation is today. Value must also be delivered, which is why Avenue 8 is a dedicated software company.
