American gymnast Simone Biles looks ready to compete for Team USA Paris 2024 Olympics.
Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, gave a preview of what fans and competitors can expect from her when women’s gymnastics qualifying begins this weekend.
During Thursday’s podium practice at Bercy Arena, Biles landed her signature Yurchenko double spear vault – a complex and difficult vault Named after Byers In 2023, she became the first female gymnast to win this honor at an international competition.

USA Gymnastics shared video of Biles’ “unreal” vault, which showed her smiling as she walked off the mat after landing.
“Is she still human?” one person wrote on social media in response to Biles’ slow-motion view of her vault. “She’s great.”
according to NBC Sports, Due to the difficulty of landing, the skill level of the vault is 6.4. That means if Biles can repeat Thursday’s performance in competition, she could easily be in medal contention.

“We’re all breathing a lot better now. I’m not going to lie,” gymnastics coach Cecil Landy said after Thursday’s practice, via Olympic website.
“The whole team, you know, [the vibe] Very bright. This is the Olympics…the five rings are everywhere, you know? So we feel better. The girls feel great. We feel good.
On the eve of the Olympic opening ceremony, a confident Biles reassured Team USA fans.

Biles’ final run at the Olympics came to an unfortunate end when she bowed out of the competition after a bad “twist” race. She withdrew from several competitions to focus on her mental health, but still returned on the balance beam and won a bronze medal.
Qualifying rounds for women’s gymnastics will begin on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
