Simone Biles and Suni Lee took to social media to show support for U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles after the American gymnast won gold in the floor exercise The bronze medal is still pending.
Chiles may end up having to return her Olympic medal after the Center for Arbitration for Sport ruled on Saturday that Chiles’ score must be restored to her original score because the U.S. team did not present a timely challenge to a judge. The International Olympic Committee ruled Sunday that Chiles must return the medals, but USA Gymnastics appealed the ruling, saying video evidence showed the coach conducted a timely investigation.

As Chiles wrote on Instagram Stories over the weekend that she was heartbroken by the chaotic situation, Biles and Lee also expressed support.
“Sending you lots of love, Jordan,” Biles wrote on her Instagram Story. “Olympic champion, hold your chin up! We love you!”
Lee also wrote a loving message of support and lashed out at Olympic officials over the disaster.

“All of this is said about athletes, but what about the judges? Totally unacceptable. This is terrible and I feel bad for Jordan,” she wrote. “I’ll always support you, Joe. (You) have all my flowers and you will always be an Olympic champion.”
“That girl forever,” Team USA wrote on its X account.
If Chiles is stripped of her medal, she will become the third gymnast in history to be stripped of an Olympic medal. The other two are China’s Dong Fangxiao and Romania’s Andrea Radukan, both of whom missed out on medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

In Sydney, the Chinese team’s all-around bronze medalist was stripped of his bronze medal after it was discovered that he was only 14 years old, two years younger than he was when he competed.
