Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt formally acknowledged defeat Wednesday night. After more than 20 hours of counting, challenger Nathan Vasquez’s lead shrank from 16% to 8% thanks to Oregon’s notorious “vote-by-mail” system and a bunch of newly discovered ballots. , the Schmidt Show accepted reality and admitted defeat.
As we reported earlier today, Portlanders are rejecting Schmidt, his Soros supporters, and the “incremental reform” policies that have led to an across-the-board spike in crime in all areas. Schmidt soon became notorious for exposing victims and favoring criminals. The new owner, Nathan Vasquez, has been Multnomah County deputy prosecutor for nearly 25 years. But don’t hold your breath for too long. Compared to the far-left antics of The Schmidt Show , Vasquez’s conventional left-wing Democratic policies may only bring things a little closer to sanity.
A quick look at Schmidt’s Facebook and Twitter pages shows a large number of angry citizens eager to vote him out. He will remain in office until January.
