Sorry, Democrats. You’re stuck with Joe Biden.
This weekend on Bill Maher’s show, Bill asked former Obama adviser David Axelrod about the idea of replacing Democratic nominee Joe Biden with someone else.
Axelrod poured cold water on the idea, saying it was a “fantasy” and that Biden wasn’t going anywhere.

David Axelrod slams Bill Maher’s suggestion Biden could switch from Democratic ticket: ‘Fantasy’
Maher cited one of Axelrod’s own past comments indicating that he believes there is a lot of “talent” within the Democratic Party that could “rise” to become the new standard-bearer.
“The debate will be on June 27, and we’ve never had a debate before the convention,” Maher said. “If Joe really doesn’t like the bed, would this be a good opportunity to change?”
“Look, this is a fantasy I hear all the time,” Axelrod replied. “I like Joe Biden, I’ve worked with him, I’m grateful to have worked with him, and I think he’s done a lot of very, very good things as president, and history will be kind to him. That’s not the question. The question is should you run at your age? , but he did run and now he’s the Democratic nominee.
“This is not 1968, the convention is going to make a decision. We changed the rules. Voters nominated a candidate. They nominated Joe Biden, and he’s not going anywhere,” Axelrod told Maher. “No generation of elders is going to go to the White House and tell him he can’t run. He’s going to run, and I believe one of the reasons they want to have a debate early is to bring attention to this, which is the choice! It’s Trump and Biden.

Despite concerns from Bill Maher and other top Democrats about Joe Biden, David Axelrod pledged that Biden will not be replaced by another candidate:

Bill Maher doesn’t seem to have much, if any, confidence in Biden. Millions on the left share his concerns.
