Ashe’s publicist shared a statement from her family with NPR, which read: “After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she is making a peaceful transition surrounded by her loved ones.” “Erica A remarkable woman and talented entertainer, her memory will live in our hearts forever with her sharp wit, humor and genuine passion for life.”
Ashe began her career on the stage and her credits include It’s you, baby On Broadway, Disney Tour lion king and off-Broadway shows soul doctor.
The daughter of a U.S. Army captain/chaplain and a math teacher, Ash moved around frequently while growing up, including time spent in Germany. She graduated from Emory University with a pre-med degree. But she suffered from a performance obsession as a child. After Emory, she moved to Japan where she pursued a career as a model, singer, and actress.
Among the many cast members who paid tribute to Ash, Siedah Garrett wrote: “The passing of the beautiful, talented and funny cast member of ‘Survivor’s Remorse’ moved me to tears… Erica generously collaborated with me on an original prison miniseries that I submitted to Netflix.
“Erica Ashe was a light. Beautiful, funny, and brilliant,” wrote Christopher Landon, who directed Erica Ashe in the film. We have a ghost“I was blessed to work with her and call her my friend. My heart goes out to her family and friends right now.”
