A Texas man was arrested after he attacked another man with a machete-style knife during a traffic altercation, police said.
Michael Martin Ochwat, 66, was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the New Braunfels Police Department wrote on Facebook.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing near the intersection of North Market Avenue and East San Antonio Street in New Braunfels around noon Monday.

When officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old male victim suffering from stab wounds to his upper body.
Paramedics were called to the scene and provided immediate medical attention before taking the victim to hospital with serious but stable injuries. The victim has been released from hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in an argument with another driver in the vehicle. Both drivers exited the vehicle when the suspect, later identified as Ohwat, confronted the victim with a machete-style knife.

A warrant was served for Ochwat’s arrest Wednesday afternoon and was taken into custody without incident.
He was held at the Comal County Jail and later released on $50,000 bail.
