Who is it suitable for:
Gaming Chromebooks are an interesting type of laptop because they’re not exactly what you think of when you hear the term “gaming laptop.” In fact, they’re in a category of their own – gaming Chromebooks are almost exclusively used for cloud gaming because they don’t have the specs to run performance-demanding games or software natively. The trade-off, though, is that you can get it at a great price.

Why we chose this:
During our testing, we had no issues launching Xbox Game Pass and jumping into games like starry sky and sea of thieves (They also run well). Controller setup is quick and easy with fast Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to its cloud gaming capabilities, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook 16’s keyboard also leaves a good impression, typing feels great and the quality barely feels budget-level. The display is nothing to write home about, but it’s not bad. We appreciate the 120Hz update rate, but we wish the maximum brightness was just a small A little brighter.
Chromebook battery life is about average, which means it’s pretty good. During testing, we were able to use the unit for about 10.5 hours before needing to be charged. Chromebook perks sweeten the package, including three months of YouTube Premium, one year of Google One cloud storage, and one month of Boosteroid access.
As for cons, there aren’t many, and it’s hard to fault them when you get such an excellent value. They really come down to the audio features – at maximum volume, the speakers sound a bit tinny and lack overall depth. The microphone isn’t a strong point either, and it doesn’t sound very good on the other end of a voice call. Like we said, it’s not an all-around power source gaming laptopbut as long as you know what you’re getting (a cloud gaming console), you can’t beat the price.
