Two of my favorite trailers this week share a common theme: parasitic aliens. This trope has given us some of the best moments in film history. consider the whole alien franchise, scary dog transformation thingor that scene space ball. You can make a convincing argument StarCraftThe Borg race are also some kind of parasite.
It’s a versatile premise that can make a movie as exciting, bizarre, or action-packed as the creators want it to be. Two of science fiction’s most beloved fictional covetous characters are set to debut this week.
Venom doesn’t like to be called a parasite, but basically it’s still a parasite. However, in the case of the Klyntar symbiote and Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock, the two are more than just parasites and their hosts. They are a charming bromance! This week’s trailer shows off more, with some huge stakes and hints that this is the end of the road for Brock and his oily, horny friends. Makes me excited for the theatrical premiere on October 25th Venom: The Last Dance.
Face-hugging alien horror is making a comeback thanks to director Fede Alvarez (evil Dead) in the new Alien: Romulus trailer. It feels good to see this team get back to its roots. I like more thoughtful ones Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, but not everyone likes them. In this new trailer, scavengers on an abandoned space station become prey. It’s dark and claustrophobic; it has chest poppers and face huggers; it looks downright scary. The film will be released on August 16.
Dee West’s horror trilogy MaXXXine. The show follows Mia Goth’s character as she rises to prominence in a murder mystery set in 1980s Hollywood. Like the series, the film will have its own unique atmosphere, with West likening it to a “noir” film with a “Terminator-like aesthetic.” I participated. X and its prequel, pearland will be released in theaters on July 5.
All rightmetal slug tactics This is not a movie. But this is a new version of one of my favorite video game series of all time. Strategy is a turn-based strategy game that’s different from the usual side-scrolling shooters – think Contra, But what’s even more stupid is—— Known for its difficulty and detailed sprite-based animations. it comes from the people behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and streets of rage 4! The game will launch this fall on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series S/X.
