gearbox Borderlands The game is known for many things, but the most important of them is undoubtedly its sense of humor. it is Borderlands 2 The series’ comedic sense really took shape, and the series has since been filled with humor, mostly crude or internet humor. Not surprisingly, this carries over to live action moviehis first clip was…well, that was it.
Lionsgate is here IGN Fan Festival In a new clip from the film, series mascot Claptrap (voiced by Jack Black) spits out a lot of bullets. Thankfully it doesn’t last too long, but it’s still a bit weird and probably more fun if you like the game’s general sense of humor. Stories from the frontier Spin-off drama! ) If not… well, that visual is in your head right now, sorry about that.
On the plus side, the rest of the clip features decent-looking action, starring Vault Hunter Roland (Kevin Hart), Tanis (Jamie Lee Curtis), Tina (A. Liana Greenblatt), Krieger (Florian Monto) and Lilith (cate blanchett) against a group of attackers. This part is the most Borderlands-The whole ass part of the clip, minus no one using their class skills to significantly shorten this fight. If you need something in this movie to grab onto, it looks like Blanchett will be your lifeline. She seems to come across as a nice sci-fi gunslinger, and the movie seems to recognize that, as she’s the one most involved in the fight.
The bigger issue here may be that the clip itself is too sterile. Borderlands The game is not bloody enough yet Mortal Kombat or war machine, But their approach to violence is delightfully cartoony because the guns are just so stupid. There needs to be more flavor here; one of them needs a gun to melt these attackers or electrocute or set them on fire. (Maybe a combination of the three, since later games had two elemental types of guns?)
Borderlands Set to hit theaters on August 9, hopefully between now and then the movie will look more like the game in the ways that matter: endearingly silly violence and humor that feels like there’s intention behind it.
