What is the risk of foreign nationals released at the U.S. border or paroled by the Biden administration committing a terrorist attack in the United States? no one knows.
not me. Not FBI Director Chris Wray. Former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell wrote in a June 10 column in Foreign Affairs that “the terrorist threat posed by the porous U.S.-Mexico border is ‘flashing red lights,'” but he himself did not Know.
Risk is an estimate, like the number of “fugitives” who sneak into the country each year without being detected. This is not a calculation, like Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) tally of actual apprehensions of 194 illegally entering terrorists (KSTs) so far in fiscal year 2024.
Risk of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil has risen to alarmingly high levels, experts warn
More than 20 years ago, I had lunch with a diplomat who issued visas to half of the 9/11 hijackers while working in Saudi Arabia. At the time, young people from this wealthy, stable country were considered low-risk travelers. They go to American colleges, spend their money, obey our laws, and then go home. Still a big risk, but trust me, a single man from the Middle East who wants to come to the United States to take flying lessons is going to be asked some questions.
After 9/11, the United States developed better screening methods, collected more information through fingerprints and facial scans, and improved information sharing among agencies. This makes it harder for known bad actors to get in – but not for those we don’t have records of. China, Cuba and Venezuela have not yet provided such information.
Biden’s relatively open borders make it difficult to assess, let alone avoid, terrorism risks.
We know that many American lives have been ended or tortured by foreigners who have no right to be here. Children are raped, such as a 13-year-old girl in New York City last week. Women like Kayla Hamilton are murdered by violent gang members. Mothers like Rachel Morin, allegedly murdered by a Salvadoran man. Victims of drunk drivers like Ignacio Cruz-Mendoza, who killed Scott Miller, had been deported to Mexico 16 times.
FBI chief warns of jihadist attack on US like Russian concert hall: ‘Terrorist threat heightened’
For terrorists, their actions are carefully planned and hidden. In May, two men, possibly illegal immigrants from Jordan, were arrested after trying to enter Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will not release their names.
In April, a driver killed himself while driving to Fort Story in Virginia Beach, but the FBI still hasn’t told Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin his identity or condition. As Youngkin wrote in a letter to Secretary Mayorkas requesting information, from fiscal year 2017 to fiscal year 2020, only 11 Terrorist Screening Profile (Watch List) personnel were captured at the southern border, but this fiscal year there have been 104. .
Sources say Jordanians who tried to break into Marine Corps Base Quantico entered the U.S. illegally
In fiscal year 2021, DHS found only 342 Chinese nationals traveling between ports of entry. Last year, the number was 24,125. There were so many that DHS interviewed them half-heartedly and then let them go. In March this year, a Chinese illegal immigrant “accidentally” broke into the largest Marine Corps base in the United States in Twentynine Palms, California. According to the Wall Street Journal, there have been more than 100 accidental intrusions by Chinese citizens in recent years.
Several countries on the fringes of the former Soviet Union, such as Dagestan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, are known to have active terrorist groups. The New York Post recently reported that more than 1,500 Tajiks crossed the border illegally between October 2020 and May 2024, and 500 people were “caught” this year alone. Recently, eight Tajiks with known ties to ISIS were arrested. What about those whose relationships are unknown? Almost all of them were subsequently released.
In fiscal year 2021, CBP encountered only 3,675 Special interest aliens are “persons from countries that the United States government determines have conditions that promote or protect terrorism or that may pose some kind of national security threat.” Between October 2022 and August 2023, CBP encountered 74,904 cases. Among them were 659 Iranians and 538 Syrians—two places harboring people eager to retaliate against the United States.
Despite the obvious risks, our government seems so indifferent to the potential disaster that they allow entry without verifying their identity or domestic criminal history – thousands of people (many of them young) entering our country every day border.

On top of that, they parole another 1,400 people every day. From all over the world, especially Afghanistan, Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela. How many Afghans are Taliban fighters rather than their victims? How many Haitians persecute civilians on behalf of the government or criminal groups rather than as victims? How many Cubans, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans work for their communist regimes rather than against them?
Because of the need to manage these risks, the Border Patrol has regrettably shifted its efforts from detaining and deporting illegal immigrants to welcoming them. Former Border Patrol Capt. Rodney Scott said that normally, 70 percent of agents are out on patrol and 30 percent on administrative duties, but now, with agents being reassigned as social workers, that has increased The ratio is more like 10% to 90%.

Meanwhile, the State Department is working on creating passports for fictitious genders, the CIA is painting nails for Pride Month, and the Department of Homeland Security has changed the designation of “special interest aliens” (“alien” is the term used in U.S. law). Immigration for “special interests” – I guess inclusive.
It is almost a matter of time before foreigners carry out preventable terrorist attacks in the United States. It’s possible that terrorists are coming here on visas like the 9/11 hijackers, but the unprecedented group of illegal aliens released or paroled by the Biden administration is a more likely source.
