The New York Times has been working tirelessly to keep Biden off the Democratic ticket since the presidential debates, but they’ve failed, so now the paper is changing course.
The New York Times described Biden as “Mr. Biden” after he delivered the best speech of the presidential campaign so far in Detroit. Biden held a rally in Detroit where thousands of chanting and cheering supporters rejected calls for him to end his re-election bid, painted Trump as a convicted criminal, rapist and liar and attacked the news media. Calling his remarks wrong. It was an energetic performance, but it remains to be seen whether Mr Biden can campaign with that energy throughout November, or whether he can convince supporters he can lead for another four years.
Rather than portraying Trump as something different, President Biden told the truth, which is that Trump has been found by the courts to be a convicted felon, rapist, and found guilty of massive business fraud.
The last line of the Times post is interesting. The New York Times pivoted from Biden having to do it now to Biden having to maintain the same level of energy throughout November that he showed in Detroit. The change in The Times standards means a win for President Biden.
Ahead of his NATO press conference, reports emerged that 40 House Democrats would break with Biden and demand that he step down. Those 40 Democrats never showed up. The mainstream media keeps telling the country that the dam is going to blow over the president this week, but that’s not happening.
If Biden performs well again during Monday’s primetime special with NBC News’ Lester Holt, the “Biden must go” narrative created by the media will be over.
We should not forget that the New York Times tried to remove the president from office, and they failed.
