Over the past few years, the warnings we’ve heard from historians, tyranny experts, and the Biden-Harris campaign may have been mere ruminations, but today we face a real threat in the form of a perfect storm:
1. A suitable candidate who is shameless, power-hungry, sadistic, psychopathic, and charismatic to his loyal cult followers
2. Satisfies the right’s decades-long effort to return to imperialist forms through an imperial presidency
3. Ushering in the era of billionaire corporations taking over the media, from local news to the largest legacy newspapers we all once read with reverence, one of a kind – if this were fiction, this behavior would be too remarkable Already installed a team led by a Murdoch-trained Brit accused of running a cover-up for the conservative Conservative Party and covering up illegal activities in the newsroom. Instead of protecting America’s values of independent and free press, some major corporate media organizations in the United States are moving in the opposite direction.
Independent news sites like PoliticusUSA have been under siege for the past seven years, with site after site shutting down. Even those with dark money and hedge fund money are struggling, and we accept neither. We created this site to give voters a people’s perspective on these issues and focus on the impact of policies on working families, not Wall Street.
In the age of social media, we had easy access to voters, but today most of those channels are taken over by corporations and big money. Things will change. We’re lucky to still have a loyal audience, but with the many behind-the-scenes changes to Google Search, where Google ad spend is sometimes slashed by up to 75% without warning, SEO writing and AI writing are rewarded, ultimately on the Net The end of neutrality under President Trump and the corporate media teaming up with social media billionaires to own the “news” space is an unsustainable venture. We maintained it with our own money. This is how we protect our democracy and its institutions.

We come here with our somewhat frayed but heroic flag and our confidence in you, the voters.
