A major star of the hit cult classic film “The Sandlot” has been arrested in South Carolina.
KPTV reports that Thomas Gehry, who plays Scotty Smalls in “The Sandlot,” allegedly hit the windshield of his neighbor’s Jeep with a 35-pound dumbbell before walking up to his doorstep with a knife. He was subsequently arrested.
After the incident, Geary told his neighbor, “This is too bad, man, I’m going to pay you back, I’m sorry, I’m going to get you back.”
Gary has since been charged with third-degree assault and battery and malicious injury to personal property.

Former child star Tom Guiry, best known for his role in the 1993 family comedy “The Sandlot,” was arrested in South Carolina earlier this month for slamming a 35-pound dumbbell on the side of a Jeep. He opened the windshield and walked towards a man’s door with a knife.
Geary, 42, made his film debut at the age of 11, playing Scotty Smalls in “The Sandlot,” and has continued to work in films ever since, appearing in “Lassie,” “Black Hawk Down,” “Mysterious River” and “The Revenant” among many other works.
The arrest was made on June 2 after police in Horry County, South Carolina, were called to investigate a trespassing/nuisance call earlier this month. When officers arrived, Geary was standing in the middle of the road inquiring about his wife’s safety, the police report states.
Surveillance footage appeared to show Gary breaking his neighbor’s windshield with a 35-pound dumbbell, then approaching his door with a knife and ringing the doorbell, the report said. It’s unclear what sparked the dispute.
