Last month, Warner Bros. announced a sequel to the 2018 film batman ninja In progress. Add an interesting title Ninja Batman vs. Gangster League, You’ve got to wonder what the Dark Knight will do next – and the answer is, fight the Justice League.
Yes, our premise this time around is that Batman and Robin (his son Damian) are fighting a time-specific evil adversary against his super-powered friends. Interestingly, the dynamic duo appear to be in an alternate version of present-day Japan rather than the feudal Japan of the original film, and the characters’ designs reflect this. Aquaman is a fisherman, Wonder Woman is a powerful warrior, The Flash appears to be a Ronin, and Green Lantern Jessica Cruz wields a literal lantern to channel her powers. Why do they go to evil? It’s a big question mark, but Batman and Robin will take them down and possibly return them to their old ways.
Notably missing from the lineup here is Superman. Other stories of Batman battling the League ensured Man of Steel was involved, often as the big bad of the entire thing. Maybe Warner Bros. kept him out of marketing to prevent him from overshadowing the rest of the gang and this being relegated to another “Batman v Superman” story. Regardless, this looks promising; the first film attracted fans for its considerable absurdity, and the introduction of Bruce’s co-workers looks like an interesting step up. hope we can see more Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza It won’t be too late for its release in digital and physical formats soon.
