The new $899.99 “Snapdragon Development Kit for Windows” includes the most powerful chip in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon The Apple Mini Desktop is roughly the same size.
Unfortunately, while the spec sheet indicates that the 2-pound PC will only ship in black and not the clear model at the top of this article, the 8 x 7 x 1.3-inch PC does feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and enough to run three 4K monitors simultaneously.
Ports include three USB4 ports with Type-C connectors, a pair of USB 3.2 ports with Type-A, Ethernet, 3.5mm audio, and HDMI. So if you want to go the multi-monitor route, plug in at least one USB-C cable or adapter.
Speaking of adapters, you can’t find the power brick in Qualcomm’s picture: it has an external 180W AC power adapter.
While the development kit may be more cost-effective than the new wave of Microsoft Copilot Plus PC laptops containing similar Qualcomm chips, the gap isn’t huge: The Surface Laptop 6 starts at $999.99 and apparently comes with its own screen. It’s unclear whether anyone can purchase the development kit: Qualcomm’s landing page currently points to a contact form that you’ll likely need to fill out to get one.
