Martha Stewart was born on August 3, 1941 in New Jersey. Before becoming the face of her popular lifestyle brand, she was a stockbroker on Wall Street.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in history and architectural history from Barnard College, marrying Andrew Stewart and becoming a Wall Street stockbroker, she began a new career by opening a catering company.
In 1982, Stewart published the first of many books called Entertaining, all about how to host parties large and small.

Then came Stewart’s lifestyle magazine (published by Time Publishing Ventures) and her syndicated television show, “Martha Stewart Living.”
Since then, Stewart has launched different product lines focused on home furnishings.
All this led to the listing of Stewart’s company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, on the New York Stock Exchange in 1999.

Stewart’s career came to a halt in 2004, when she spent five months in jail and another five months on house arrest.
Her prison time was related to her involvement in insider trading in December 2001, when she sold a large stake in biopharmaceutical company ImClone Systems the day before it announced negative news.
After serving his sentence, Stewart once again became part of the public eye.
She has appeared on television over the years on shows like “Martha’s Baking” and “Martha Stewart’s Baking Camp.”

The lifestyle expert has also worked with Snoop Dogg on numerous occasions, including on the TV series “Martha and Snoopy’s Potluck Party Challenge.”
“I’ve never met anyone like Martha Stewart,” Snoop Dogg previously told Rolling Stone. “When we come together, it’s a natural union of love, peace and harmony.”
In addition to his television shows and appearances, Stewart has published 100 books over the years. Her books cover many categories, including recipes, organizing tips, and more.
