Universal Music Group (UMG) has promoted Todd Goodwin to senior vice president of cultural marketing and creative strategy for its in-house creative and marketing division °1824.
Goodwin has been leading the way °1824 UMG said on Tuesday (May 14) that since its inception in 2019, it will continue to lead internal services and infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of UMG artists, labels and brands.
Under Goodwin’s leadership, °1824 has a team of young creatives and has become a resource for a range of services including content creation, public relations, A&R search, brand partnerships, strategic insights and experiential marketing. Notably, the department helped produce live events through UMG’s Twitch channel 3point5, providing artists with a platform to connect directly with fans.
Following his promotion, Goodwin will remain in UMG’s Santa Monica office and continue to report to UMG’s executive vice president Michelle anthony.

Goodwin’s journey with UMG began in 2015 when he served as vice president of college and lifestyle marketing. His vision for an in-house creative and marketing team led to the creation of °1824, which now has a full-time management team across multiple locations and a network of 75 part-time employees nationwide. Alumni in the department include more than 100 employees who hold full-time positions at UMG.
°1824 Recent projects overseen include organizing press tours, producing music videos, and executing marketing campaigns for artists including Ringo Starr, Maggie Rogers, and Kid Cudi. The division’s portfolio also includes productions with Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones, Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, James Bay, Katy Perry, Louis Capaldi, Lil Baby, NCT 127 and Ray Cooperation with M. Wolf et al.

°1824 has also generated over 1 billion views of content, and its PR team secures over 2,000 placements annually, which UMG says contributes significantly to the visibility of its artists and projects.
