US performing rights organization BMI has announced two new members to its leadership team following its transition to a for-profit business model and sale to New Mountain Capital and other investors in 2022.
Tom KershawAn experienced Internet and mobile communications executive will serve as BMI’s chief technology officer, while Justin LordThe strategic management and growth veteran will join the newly created chief transformation officer position, BMI said in a statement on Monday (July 8).

As technology officer, Kershaw will take over as chief information officer Mike Westwho recently announced his retirement from the company.
Kershaw previously co-founded Pre-bid websitean open source software organization, recently joined BMI from the global travel retail platform travel port. BMI said he has more than 20 years of experience in mobile application development, advertising and marketing systems, and data science, having worked in technology markets of varying size and geographic complexity.
“Tom’s background and track record of driving digital transformation, coupled with his passion for innovation and experience working with large-scale data, position him well to lead significant technology advancements and modernization at BMI,” said O’Neill.
“This includes our efforts to manage the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and create new ways for affiliates and licensing partners to enhance their BMI experience through technology.”

Meanwhile, Rohde joins BMI Explore technology, a private equity-owned global SaaS and payments group, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Transformation Officer. Lord is responsible for revenue growth, profit improvement and strategic initiatives across all business units.
His previous experience includes leading product development and growth strategy Integrated American Corporation and management and strategy consulting Bain & Company.
BMI said Rohde has “extensive experience” in process improvement, sales productivity, product development and global business management.
