“It’s been an absolute pleasure working with TOMORROW X TOGETHER,” Lee told Mashable.
Produced in HYPERFOCUS : TOMORROW X TOGETHER VR CONCERT Beginning at the end of February, AmazeVR, BIGHIT and HYBE 360 collaborated to decide which songs will be included and the themes of each stage. Lee said BIGHIT and HYBE had been looking to expand their promotion of K-pop groups, and AmazeVR seemed a “perfect fit.”
“After determining the setlist and creative framework for the concert, AmazeVR filled in the details of the direction,” Lee said. “Both BIGHIT and HYBE 360 provide full support for optimal VR performance production, including selecting costumes suitable for VR shooting and adjusting choreography to capture the best performance in VR.”
AmazeVR also optimizes camera movement for virtual reality, increasing close-ups and avoiding fast movements that can cause viewers to become dizzy. Once the track and concept are decided upon, and the choreography and camera movements are planned, the recording process proceeds quickly.
Lee said, “Although we expected the filming to take longer due to the large amount of footage required, the members performed each performance so perfectly that we completed filming four hours earlier than originally planned.” He noted, TOMROW X TOGETHER have also been preparing for their live show. Action: Commitment then. “Even though their choreography was the most challenging of the artists we’ve photographed, they pulled it off flawlessly.”
AmazeVR captured TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s performance in 8K resolution on a green screen and then upgraded it using artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is also used to automate lighting and special effects for shows, as well as program camera animations. The concert was filmed using TechnoDolly, an automated telescopic camera crane, which enables AmazeVR to pre-program smooth motion to reduce the risk of motion sickness.
“Artificial intelligence has been a key tool in calculating images of all members every microsecond so that we can place them against a digital background,” Lee said. “Previously, this was all done manually, but we’ve built artificial intelligence tools to handle this problem, and we reduced the time to create a VR concert by more than 80% compared to our first concert. ”
Compositing, also known as compositing, involves removing a green screen background and combining multiple visual elements into a single film. In this case, live-action footage from TOMORROW X TOGETHER was combined with 3D images rendered by AmazeVR’s Unreal Engine-based system.
“Since the camera and TechnoDolly are both physical devices, they can’t be 100% perfect, so there will be some minor errors,” Lee said. “These errors create challenges when compositing live-action footage with a 3D rendering environment. Our AI module calculates the precise movement of the camera and applies this information during the compositing process to ensure seamless integration.”
In addition to working with TOMORROW X TOGETHER and aespa, AmazeVR has previously produced VR concerts for artists including Megan Thee Stallion, T-Pain and Zara Larsson. The above performances are now available in the AmazeVR Concerts app for $12.99 each, and anyone with a compatible VR headset can watch them as many times as they like.
