Former President Trump announced late Friday that he had agreed to Fox News’ offer to debate Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump said the debate will be held in Pennsylvania on September 4, but the location of the event has not yet been determined.
The former president also noted that a debate scheduled for ABC News had been canceled before President Biden suspended his re-election campaign, citing his disapproval of the network and one of its hosts, George Stefano Nopulos’ lawsuit.
“I have agreed to a debate on Fox News with Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “The debate was scheduled to take place on ABC against Sleepy Joe. Biden, but was terminated because Biden was no longer a participant and I was pursuing a lawsuit against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, creating a conflict of interest.

The debate will be moderated by Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha McCallum.
The rules for the debate will be similar to those for the June 27 CNN matchup against Biden, whom Trump said was “being treated horribly by his party.” But unlike the CNN debate, which had no audience, the Fox News debate will have one.
Fox News invited Trump and Harris to participate in a debate in Pennsylvania on September 17.
Harris said last month she was “ready” to debate the former president and accused him of reneging on a previous agreement to hold the debate on ABC News on September 10.
After Biden announced that he would give up his re-election bid, Harris became the Democratic presidential candidate.
Trump previously said he would not debate Harris because she was no longer the party’s official nominee after Biden dropped out of the race. But on Friday, the vice president secured enough delegates to officially become the party’s nominee.

“As we all know, the Democratic Party has unconstitutionally accepted a candidate who had already conceded defeat and unceremoniously replaced him with a new candidate,” Trump wrote. “This has never been done before, and is right. A threat to democracy, but I am fully prepared to accept the outcome of this ‘coup’ and replace Joe on the debate stage with Crazy Kamala Harris.”
“I spent hundreds of millions of dollars, time and energy fighting Joe, and when I won the debate, they threw a new candidate into the ring. Not fair, but that’s what it is!” he continued. “Nevertheless, their bad policies are the same regardless of whether they are different candidates, and that will be strongly revealed in the debate on September 4. I look forward to meeting Kamala Harris on September 4 Meet and debate.
