Trump announced that he had agreed to hold a debate on Fox News somewhere in Pennsylvania on September 4, but did not reach an agreement with the Harris campaign on the debate.
Trump posted on the Truth Community website:
I have given my consent to Fox News debating Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. This debate was originally scheduled to be on ABC against Sleepy Joe Biden, but was discontinued because Biden was no longer a participant, and I am filing a lawsuit against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, resulting in an interest conflict. The Fox News debate will be held in Pennsylvania at a location to be determined. The moderators of the debate will be Bret Baier and Martha McCallum, and the rules will be similar to the rules of my debate with Sleepy Joe, who was treated horribly by his party – but with a full audience! ….. .
… As we all know, the Democratic Party unconstitutionally elected a candidate who had already been admitted defeated and unceremoniously replaced him with a new candidate. This has never been done before and is a threat to democracy, but I am fully prepared to accept the outcome of this “coup” and replace Joe on the debate stage with a crazy Kamala Harris. I spent hundreds of millions of dollars, time, and energy fighting Joe, and when I won the debate, they threw a new candidate into the ring. Not fair, but that’s the truth! Still, their bad policies are the same regardless of whether they are different candidates, and this will be exposed forcefully during the September 4 debate. I look forward to meeting and debating Kamala Harris on September 4th. This date is convenient and appropriate because it comes just before early voting begins for the 2024 presidential election on September 6. I look forward to seeing you all at Greater Penn State on September 4th!
The debate is still scheduled for September 10
The debate that Trump agreed to but later withdrew from on the ABC program is still scheduled for September 10 and has not been cancelled. It has not been changed. Kamala Harris agreed to continue the debate and said she would attend.
It was Donald Trump who refused to debate.
Joe Biden’s ouster was not unconstitutional. The president is allowed to decide not to run again because Democrats have not yet formally chosen their nominee.
Trump is imploding because he doesn’t know how to compete with Vice President Harris. He had been struggling for nearly two weeks not wanting to argue with her.
The pressure and negative press had gotten to Trump, so he came up with a fake debate announcement.
Harris has momentum, and Trump has yet to find a way to stop it.
