Trump has advanced conspiracy theories that fascists who control the Oval Office are behind his prosecution.

Trump said: “What a shame. I’m so sad to see what’s happening to our country. Our country is going to hell under Biden, but look at this man, why don’t you look at what’s going on for them What about the guy who defended almost the entire case? Look, he’s coming from Biden, I don’t know if it’s Biden because I don’t think Biden has any idea what’s going on. The fascist circle in the Oval Office. They circled the Resolute Desk. That beautiful, resolute desk was stinking.

The problem with Trump’s theory that he was being prosecuted by fascists inside the White House is that the investigation began before Biden became a presidential candidate. The case has been ongoing since Trump became president, but was stalled when the former Manhattan district attorney was unwilling to bring charges against the current president.
The Manhattan indictment was not a conspiracy orchestrated by Biden, but Trump’s wild conspiracy theories suggest he is planning to be convicted and that he will try to politicize his conviction and blame President Biden.
Trump behaves like a defendant assuming he will be convicted.
