Former Trump Education Secretary Betsy DeVos sounded the alarm about Tim Walz and Randi Weingarten, the far-left president of the nation’s largest teachers union.
Tim Walz was a public school teacher before entering politics, so Weingarten already viewed Walz as a potential ally. In fact, she’s very excited about the prospect of becoming a former White House teacher.
DeVos finds this worrisome, and she has a point.

After Randi Weingarten gushes about VP pick, DeVos issues blunt warning to Walz: ‘Alert Level 5’ for families
After AFT union president Randi Weingarten celebrates Kamala Harris running mate Tim Walz joining the Democratic race, former education Secretary Betsy DeVos warned him.
“Anyone who gets Randy this excited should set off a fifth-level alarm for parents and students,” DeVos wrote on X on Tuesday.
The U.S. education secretary under Trump made the comments in response to a video posted on Weingarten’s ATF .
“We’re very excited… We’ve known him for years, as a social studies teacher, as a veterinarian, as a union member, as a congressman, as a governor, and he cares about working people. We’ve seen it,” a clearly eager Weingarten says in the film. “He knows how to get things done. This is a great day for America, and we will have Kamala Harris and Tim Walz standing up for the future, for freedom, for opportunity, for America, for American family.
“I’m sorry, I was just so excited,” she added.

The political relationship between Democrats and teachers unions is already questionable. If Weingarten is full of praise for “Waltz,” that’s cause for concern.
