The judge presiding over Donald Trump’s hush money trial has warned the former president will be arrested if he doesn’t attend daily court proceedings.
The trial began Monday with multiple motions and jury selection, drawing widespread attention. It is historic in nature and could have implications for Trump’s political and legal future.
MSNBC Vice President of Editorial and Booking Jesse Rodriguez reported the incident on social media.
“Trump must be in court every day during his criminal trial,” he wrote.
Rodriguez quoted Judge Juan Melchan as saying: “If you don’t show up, you will be arrested.”

Transcripts of the New York court proceedings provided by NBC News further show the seriousness of the silent money threat.
He said: “If you deliberately fail to attend court when required, any proceedings in your case, including the hearing, trial and, if you are convicted, sentencing, can and will continue in your absence.”
“No matter what happens in this case, a warrant will be issued for your arrest and you will be charged separately and punished separately for bail jumping. Do you understand?
The Republican presidential candidate expressed dissatisfaction with Mo Qian’s decision on “Truth Society.” He noted that the judge was effectively preventing him from attending his son’s high school graduation. Not to mention limiting his participation in Supreme Court arguments on immunity claims in another criminal case.
“In addition to being barred from attending my son Barron’s high school graduation, I have just learned that a highly biased judge in the witch hunt case against Soros ‘appointed’ District Attorney Alvin Bragg will not allow me to attend. The historic presidential immunity debate he writes.
“This shows tremendous contempt and disrespect for our nation’s highest court, especially on a topic as important as presidential immunity, without which our country will never be the same!”

keep him away from the campaign
Trump also released a clip of Fox News personality Laura Ingraham commenting on his hush money case.Ingraham points out that, of course, the left will like The former president is in jail.
But if that doesn’t work, this judge’s decision will give them another reward.
“Of course, their ultimate fantasy is a guilty verdict,” Ingraham said. “But even if they can’t do that, they want to keep Donald Trump away from the campaign — and any details that emerge. All of this will turn the tide for Biden in November.
“After all, you can’t risk the people actually choosing their president.”
The criminal trial over alleged “hush money” payments to porn star Stormy Daniels is virtually unprecedented.
You may recall that John Edwards, a prominent frontrunner during the 2008 Democratic primary, was indicted by a North Carolina federal grand jury on six felony counts for using campaign contributions to conceal an extramarital affair.
The Justice Department accused him of funneling nearly $1 million in donations to his pregnant mistress.
But the case didn’t get very far. Edwards was acquitted on one charge of campaign finance violations, while other charges resulted in a mistrial. The U.S. Department of Justice later dropped the charges and declined to retry.
Why? Because his presidential campaign was devastated, Edwards retired from politics. If Trump had not run, and he did not pose a threat to President Biden, this trial might not have happened.
