Trump claims Putin will release detained Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershovich only if he wins election

Trump posted on the Truth Community website:
Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, who is imprisoned in Russia, will be released almost immediately after the election, but definitely before I take office. He will return home safely to his family. Russian President Vladimir Putin will do it for me, but not for anyone else, and we won’t pay anything!
Trump did not call for the detained reporter’s release, but instead agreed that the reporter would be held for ransom, and the ransom would be Trump’s return to the White House. What Trump posted about Gershovich was un-American. Trump has said that if he returns to the White House, he will only work to free American hostages, and let’s face it, an unjustly detained journalist will be used as a hostage if it benefits him.
The great deal Trump is trying to concoct is to establish that the former president illegally interfered in U.S. foreign policy and that he is a Russian asset. It’s not a good thing to be someone Putin is willing to do something for, because Trump has agreed to do something for Russia in return, and what Trump promised Putin was that he would cut off aid and allow Putin to take over Ukraine and strangle them of democracy.
The American people need to listen because Donald Trump is telling voters who he is, who owns him, and what he plans to do if he wins the election.
