Trump continues to send his message to his supporters on Fox News that he doesn’t need their votes and shouldn’t show up to vote.
Trump said:
We have lawyers, every polling place, we have them, that’s what I, in fact, my instructions, we don’t need ballots, I have so many ballots, I, I’m in Florida right now, I drove to another location Yesterday, every house had a Trump-Vance sign on it, every house, the houses we passed, we were, we had the votes, I, we had to do something. But everybody, everybody has it, it’s an amazing spirit. I would say we had two elections. We did well in the first election. We did much better in the second election than in the first. But this election has more spirit. I’ve seen this before and it’s because they’ve seen how poorly these people perform in government.

When Trump panics, one of his big moves over the years has been to tell people not to vote. Donald Trump wants to believe that the election didn’t change, and that he’s done. It’s this false confidence that has gotten the Republican Party into trouble every election cycle since 2017.
There are more anti-Trump voters than Trump voters in the country, but Donald Trump still doesn’t think Vice President Harris will boost turnout and that he can count on his base to be enough to win him the election.
Telling his voters not to vote is a counterproductive and foolish strategy. Trump did that in 2020, and he lost. He’ll do it again in 2024, likely facing the same results.
