George Conway was in court and he wrote:
Necheles is now using Stormi to prove that the sexual relationship she did not have with Trump was consensual. knew.
Necheles finally asked the question she should have asked at this cross: whether Stormi knew what Trump was doing in the hush-money deal. Literally, this was supposed to be a five-minute crossover focused on that single proposition.
Stormy: “I know nothing about his business record.”
That’s really all the defense really needs to be established from this witness.
The defense is really doing itself a disservice.
There are also exchanges about NDA:
Q: You had no personal knowledge of his involvement in the transaction or what he did or did not do?
Answer: Not directly, no.
Q: Didn’t you negotiate a nondisclosure agreement with Trump?
A: No, through my lawyer.
Q: Cohn paid you, not Trump?
Trump’s own legal team has admitted that he lied about the matter, suggesting that jurors cannot believe any of the arguments Trump makes because he has already lied to them. There is no apparent coherent strategy in Trump’s legal defense. Trump’s lawyers appear to be putting on a show for their client.
It seems like Trump’s entire defense may be that Michael Cohen paid Stormy Dennis himself and Trump had nothing to do with it, but if that’s the case, why has Trump never expressed displeasure with Cohen’s behavior? Why Trump returned the hush money and more to Cohn and then fabricated the accounts to misrepresent the money.
Donald Trump’s defense makes no sense, and it doesn’t appear to be his lawyers’ fault.
The evidence still strongly points to Trump’s guilt.
