Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, claimed on Fox News that jurors may convict Trump because they watched MSNBC and CNN over Memorial Day.

Haba said on Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures show:
The rebuttal to that is that these jurors are not sequestered jurors, they should be sequestered because, in my opinion, these jurors are dealing with something that is completely unprecedented and unwarranted in the United States, allowing them to do so over a holiday weekend Get out and about. I’m very concerned that if they’re on the left and are watching MSDNC or CNN as my client calls it, they’re not getting the fair message that they’re going to hear. But by the way, they keep saying this case is a scam, which is shocking, but they know the jurors are out there listening, and I’m concerned about that time.

Haba’s reasoning sounds like the groundwork she laid on Fox News for possible excuses should Trump be convicted. Would Trump be popular with jurors if he asked for them to be sequestered over Memorial Day weekend? Jurors are not expected to discuss the case with anyone or follow news about the case.
Trump has been outside the courthouse seemingly every day for weeks trying to get his message across to the jury.
The idea that a long recess would benefit Trump and the jury is almost as absurd as the idea that the jury would ignore all the evidence and believe what they saw on television rather than the time and weeks they spent in court. .
Public comments from Trump supporters in the media and their rhetoric in conservative media suggest they are preparing for the former president’s conviction.
