Verizon is doubling down on selling you streaming services. Starting May 30, the company will offer a $10 discount on YouTube Premium per subscription through the myPlan benefit.
YouTube Premium, which usually costs $13.99, lets you watch ad-free videos on the platform, download content, and access YouTube Music Premium. You can get this benefit if you have one of Verizon’s myPlan subscriptions, which gives subscribers access to services like Disney Plus and Apple One.
In addition to YouTube Premium, Verizon will add Peacock to its digital content hub on June 5. Verizon Plus Play lets you sign up and manage your subscriptions to Netflix, Max, Paramount Plus, AMC Plus, and more from one place. Like most other services available on Plus Play, Peacock costs $5.99 per month for Premium and $11.99 per month for Premium Plus. Both plans will see a $2 price increase in July.
Verizon also announced a new Unlimited Phone Upgrade option that gives Unlimited Ultimate customers the “best” trade-in offer regardless of the phone’s condition. Unlimited Ultimate plans range from $100 per line per month (without discounts) to $55 per line per month (if you have 4 lines with the autopay discount).
The operator is working toward its goal of becoming a streaming middleman, a setup that allows the company to take a cut of all subscriptions it sells. So far, Verizon has offered exclusive bundles of Netflix and Max, as well as discounts on Netflix Premium and Starz for $25.99 per month. Other bundles are popping up elsewhere, including ones with Disney Plus, Hulu and Max, as well as Netflix, Peacock and Apple TV Plus bundles from Comcast.
