A Florida man wearing a women’s shirt and no pants burst into the Martin County Jail on Monday and threw motor oil and rubber snakes everywhere.
Joseph Leedy, 40, broke through the door, got out of the car wearing only his shirt, poured engine oil and threatened to set the scene on fire.
Liddy declared he wanted to “kill everyone,” threw the rubber snake to the ground and fought with police.
The deranged man claimed the “devil” made him do it and ranted about his hatred of President Donald Trump.
Local television station WPTV reported that Chief Deputy John Budensiek told a news conference that paramedics gave him multiple doses of ketamine in an attempt to calm him down, but he was eventually shocked.
The station reported:
Budencik said Liddy refused to cooperate with officers, so they were forced to shock him and take him into custody.
“As our deputies interacted with him, he kept saying things like ‘The devil told me to kill everyone.’ He continued to express his disdain for President Donald Trump,” Budencik said.
The chief deputy added that paramedics gave Liddy “multiple doses of ketamine” to calm him down, but that “did not calm him down.”
Liddy was taken to Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital but was later released and booked into the Martin County Jail.
“While he did break into the first door in the hall, the prison itself was never damaged. The prison is extremely well built. There is a double concrete wall behind this door. The prison, our prison staff and our inmates It was safe throughout the entire encounter,” Budencik said.
Liddy has been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief and resisting arrest without violence.
