Everything was right, and then I said, okay, we should have a sword .I did look and there were some good ones and I thought, well, it might be nice to use this one that I have because it’s really good but I knew I had to ask for permission because I was sure someone would notice it. Even if you only see it for a few seconds, it’s not really important to the scene and certainly not to the movie, it’s just a passing thing that you either see or don’t.
So if you want to request the use of Lord of the Rings, who did you call? director Lord of the Rings, certainly.
“So I did ask Peter Jackson if he agreed, and he said, ‘Well, is this important in the story?’ And I said, no, it’s not actually. You’d barely notice it, but someone might. He Said he agreed, but I should ask the studio,” Mortensen said. “So I contacted them and they were okay with it. They realized it wasn’t required and it wouldn’t cause a lot of attention on its own. They were very nice about it and gave us permission. That’s why we did it, Just because it seemed right it was a last minute accident.
