Last month, DC fans tearfully watched a poignant scene from the third and final installment of the Warner Bros. animated adaptation of the film. crisis on infinite earths: Kevin Conroy’s actual final performance as Batman, recorded before his death. But as it was a wonderful send-off for one of the greatest actors to ever play the Dark Knight, they noticed something was wrong: The animated Batman played by Joker Conroy was fighting, and it didn’t sound like Mark. Hamill.
They are right. Because that’s not the case, despite Warners having confirmed that Hamill will reprise his role in the film alongside Conroy, even though he’s largely stopped voicing the Joker in recent years.
Over the weekend, users in the DC Animated Universe subreddit noticed that Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 Received a small update and noticed that the scene is set in Batman: The Animated Series The universe has now been updated to include “new” narration featuring Hamill as the Joker. You’ll have to hit up Reddit yourself to hear the new version and compare it to the original.
“Due to manufacturing issues, the final version inadvertently included a temporary voiceover Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3affecting the character of the Joker,” a statement provided to io9 confirmed part of the update. “The digital version of the film has been proactively corrected and replaced the incorrect version of the film in the user’s account.”
Anyone who purchased a physical copy of the film released last month with a temporary dub can contact Warner Home Video directly at: [email protected]receive a replacement copy. But at least for now, the final farewell to one of Batman and Joker’s historical significance is on schedule.
