Warner-owned concert discovery app Songkick has partnered with Shoobs, a ticketing and marketing company focused on black music and culture.
Through the deal, Songkick will list and promote Shoobs’ events to its 155 million fans through its app, website and eCRM.
According to the announcement, the partnership will help increase the visibility of black cultural events and performances such as Afro Nation Bulgaria, Burna Boy and Piano People In The Park.
Louise Broni-Mensah founded Shoobs in 2013 and became the first black female founder to receive financial support from Y Combinator.
Over the past decade, the company has partnered with organizations such as Afro Nation, Rolling Loud Bulgaria and AMA Fest on marketing and ticketing.
Christine Osazuwa joins the team in 2022 as chief strategy officer, having previously held roles at Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Pollen.
Songkick’s app allows music fans to track artists, discover concerts and purchase tickets. The platform was acquired by Warner Music Group in 2017.
Over the past few years, Songkick has expanded its international language services to French, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
