CNN is reportedly shutting down the opinion section of its website and laying off some employees as a result. Isn’t this terrible news?
The far left networks have gotten miserable ratings and statistics that force them to do this. For nearly a decade, CNN has been indistinguishable from Democratic talking points, pushing whatever crazy anti-Trump garbage the left is churning out.
Ironically, they specifically closed the comments section. All of their news coverage is opinion.
City Hall Report:
CNN (CNN) is removing an entire section of its website
CNN is discontinuing its opinion column this month due to changes at the network.
Several contributors were notified via email that “unfortunately, CNN has decided to shut down the opinion section,” with one editor adding, “I hope our paths cross somewhere else!”
A senior executive at the network confirmed the decision to Capitol Hill.
“We did make the decision earlier this month to eliminate the opinion vertical on CNN.com; therefore, we will no longer have an independent opinion section,” the executive said, pointing to Claire Atkinson A more detailed report on Substack written by.
Chief executive Mark Thompson announced that the report showed opinion desk staff were informed last month that they would be laid off on August 9 as “part of wider cost-cutting measures”.
People reacted on Twitter/X.
Let’s be honest, the entire internet is opinion.
But well, the less about CNN the better. https://t.co/Ea7vWP0jzI

It’s impossible to feel any sympathy for CNN. After all these years, they are absolutely terrible.
