Sutek’s empire of death has collapsed. Along comes the first season of Ncuti Gatwa doctor who (aka Season 14 of the 2005 reboot of the show) is in the books.
While some plot threads are neatly tied together (the Susan Twist mystery; the search for Ruby Sunday’s real mother), other plot threads are still teased but not tied together.
So now that the TARDIS is no longer haunted by the dog-headed Grim Reaper, here are the big questions that will continue to plague Whovian brains until Season 15 is released – starting with another Christmas special in December 2024 and continuing with another 8 episodes in 2025.
Who is Mrs. Flood?
At the end of Empire of the Dead, Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson) appears on a snowy rooftop in a beautiful new white fur costume, warning us that the Doctor’s story ends in “absolute horror.” But how does she know? Who is she, anyway?
We already know that Mrs. Flood knows our hero (she called him a “smart boy” when she returned to life in “Empire of the Dead”) and his machine (she showed up in the season 1 opener “In the Church” Church” identifies it as the TARDIS). Ruby Road. ” We know that she regretted “many of her plans” when she died, and that she always seemed to “keep herself hidden.”
The latter argument seems to be the most convincing. In the same episode (“The Legend of Ruby Sunday”), the Doctor notes that Time Lords sometimes change faces to hide themselves. So will Mrs. Flood become Ms. Time? A new version of Missy, or the Doctor’s much-derided granddaughter Susan?
What other “Pantheon” gods will the Doctor encounter?
The Toymaker, the Master, and the Sutek: all defeated, at least for now. But as Harriet Arbinger outlines in The Legend of Ruby Sunday, there were other gods in the so-called pantheon, some of whom have already appeared in the show. Mara comes from the days of Peter Davison. This is the Liar in the spin-off series. The Adventures of Sarah Jane. There’s also the “triple god of malice, mischief, and pain” – yet to be confirmed, but a clear tease for the upcoming adventure (and a way to spark a thousand fan theories as to which classic villains this god could represent or villain) ).
Popular stories that can be mixed and matched
What’s up with the fourth wall being broken?
Mrs Flood has now spoken directly to the camera three times. In “Devil’s Chord”, the master especially noticed it and winked at it several times. In the same story, the Doctor winks at the camera before the song “Twist at the End” plays. Is this a power possessed by members of the Pantheon – in this case, the Doctor himself being in the Pantheon – or some other unexplained twist?
How will the Doctor and Ruby reunite on Sunday?
“Ruby Sunday, I’ll see you again,” the Doctor said as he coldly kicked his friend out of the TARDIS. But that fact isn’t exactly a spoiler. Meanwhile, Mrs. Flood says that the story of “Ruby Road” is over, not Ruby’s story itself.
We know Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) will be back in season 2, along with a new partner played by Valada Setu. We know Nikolai Coughlin broadchurch and delhi girls Claim to fame is a Christmas special called “Joy to the World,” written by former showrunner Steven Moffat. But will Ruby also appear in the Christmas special, or will she get to enjoy a well-deserved holiday with her new family?
Will the Doctor see Susan again?
“Maybe one day I’ll find her,” the Doctor said to Ruby casually. We certainly hope so! Carole Ann Ford played Susan in April 1963 and once in 1983. She is now 84 years old.Collection of supervisors and classics World Health Organization Fans, you better have already filmed her regeneration scene.
Will the Doctor learn more about his background?
The Doctor has known he’s an orphan since the controversial Jodie Whittaker-era “Timeless Child” reveal: essentially, he’s lived countless lives since being discovered by a portal, and a shadowy The Time Lord organization keeps erasing his life. Davis has expressed a willingness to incorporate the Timeless Children into his story this season.
So, will the search for his origins take place during the 15th Doctor’s era? It may have something to do with “double generation,” a concept introduced by Davis in Gatwa’s first episode, “Giggles.” Davis told Mashable that Double Generation was welcomed into Season 15 with a bang.
How will the Doctor meet his new companion?
Varada Sethu made a surprise appearance in Season 14’s “Boom!” Does this mean the Doctor will meet her character, an Anglican marine named Monty Flynn, or just someone who happens to look like her? There’s precedent for the latter: Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) appeared in multiple “split” versions of her character, as did Susan Twist.
But don’t expect doctor who Too many repetitions of this formula. After all, as the Doctor told us in Season 14, there’s always a twist at the end.
