Maybe it wasn’t quite the recognition she thought it was.
Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a notorious conspiracy theorist, said J.D. Vance also believed what she was doing.

When Greene doesn’t question the President of the United States during his State of the Union address, she does things like this past May, threatening Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to raise the issue unless she gets what she wants. Withdrawal motion, this Trump/Putin wish list is: Defund Jack Smith and Ukraine. She introduced an amendment to try to force President Biden to withdraw from NATO. Or, as Green puts it, “America first” (i.e. America last, Putin first).
The Georgia Republican loudly stated that she believed it was the job of House Republicans to defend convicted felon Donald Trump. In fact, she was so supportive of a certain class of criminals that she introduced articles of impeachment against a U.S. prosecutor who prosecuted the January 6 terrorists. Sadly, this love for criminals doesn’t extend to others; it only targets those who are trying to violently overturn the election Trump lost.
These are just some of her run-of-the-mill anti-democratic beliefs. She also regularly throws out baseless conspiracy theories, such as calling for a full investigation into whether the Francis Scott Key Bridge was an accident, which some may see as a welcome relief given her obsession with officialdom in the House of Representatives Hunter Biden revenge photos shared on show. So maybe pursuing Maggie’s plot isn’t the best way to exploit them.
Greene tried to lay a “trap” on Director Wray, accusing him of censoring her social media posts as part of the Department of Homeland Security (which were censored by Republican-loving Big Tech because she was so unhinged), only for Wray to publicly He did not work for the Department of Homeland Security, the hearing was told. Research and knowledge are not Green’s strong points. So if new Ohio Senator and fake redneck JD Vance is anything like MTG, you can count on him to do a great job in government.
She’s very concerned that Bill Gates wants people to eat fake meat grown in “peach trees,” in case you’re wondering how smart she’s implying J.D. Vance is. To be fair, though, I’m pretty sure Vance is smarter than Greene; he’s a venture capitalist and fake Appalachian opportunist, while Greene is a true believer. But his willingness to follow Green’s path, even if he knew better, isn’t exactly a great endorsement.
Marge on Facebook is everything you’d expect from a Q-Anon believer turned “lawmaker” (and I use that term loosely). “After a decade of work and family troubles, adultery, palpable dissatisfaction, and a burning passion for strenuous exercise and pop nutrition, her thirst for an audience found its ultimate outlet in right-wing online commentary and ultimately the real world,” Face-to-face provocation,” Politico reported in 2021.
Green wrote:
“Have you been following 4chan? Q? “This isn’t just someone groping in the dark,” she said. “I pray with all my heart that this is true,” she said. “This could indeed be happening,” she said. “The degree of importance is good versus evil,” she said. “More and more people are starting to talk,” she said. “I spent a lot of time looking for this information,” she said.
When asked about her Jewish space laser conspiracy and why Trump supporters seemed genuinely interested in the conspiracy, she told reporters to “fuck off.” The Southern charm remains.
Greene calls Trump “come on President,” yes, I know.
Greene has too many crazy beliefs to detail here, but they’re so bad that she says Fox News banned her from the spin room in 2023.
MTG explained her conspiracy beliefs as the responsibility of others as to why they didn’t tell her. If that’s not a golden endorsement of trustworthy faith, what is?
Ms. Greene was no doubt trying to comfort herself with the idea that she would become vice president. Downright mean. But basically, according to her, he did choose her. Because JD Vance shares her beliefs.
The fact that J.D. Vance has promised that he will overturn the election and illegally seize power may be one of Donald Trump’s biggest draws as a running mate, after the former president advised his then-Vice President Mike Pence Si should be hanged for refusing to do so illegally.
When you think of JD Vance, you think of MTG. This is what she wants. There is no doubt that independent voters will be persuaded, but probably not in the direction Republicans have in mind.
