Although most minorities in the United States still lean Democratic, Republicans are winning over these voters.
This shift has occurred especially in the post-Obama political environment since Donald Trump took office.
Although President Joe Biden has told black voters that they are “not black” if they support Donald Trump, more and more minorities are being attracted to the 45th president.
A report Tuesday from The New York Times — yes, the New York Times — detailed some of that shift, though they downplayed it given the overall numbers.
The Times writes: “Republicans have made significant gains among voters without college degrees, rural voters and white evangelical voters, according to a new Pew Research Center report. Meanwhile, Democrats have captured black voters and key constituencies such as young voters and winning support among college-educated voters.
The story continues:
Republicans have long struggled with the fact that fewer Americans generally consider themselves Republicans than Democrats. After Barack Obama was re-elected president in 2012, the Republican Party produced an autopsy report that concluded that to succeed in future elections, the party needed to broaden its reach to include black and Hispanic voters. Among them, and these voters are not traditionally black and Hispanic voters.
Twelve years later, the party has made some modest gains among Latino voters. But it was the growth of the white working class and rural voters that drove parity between Republicans and Democrats.

More minorities support Trump
The New York Times reported its own poll in early March, “Poll shows Trump defeating Biden among Hispanic voters, with 46 percent supporting the former president and 40 percent supporting Biden.”
A New York Times poll also showed that Trump’s support among black voters has increased from 4% four years ago to 23% today.
That’s a 19-point rally — something Republicans the left will never tire of calling racist. Clearly, this strategy of driving voters away from Trump is either counterproductive, or many voters will see right through it in the first place.
There are many problems with Joe Biden’s campaign. Add this trend among voters of color to the list.
Now is the time to support and share sources you trust.
