“You may be unable to sign in to your Xbox profile, you may be disconnected when signing in, or experience other related issues,” the status message reads. “Features that require signing in, such as most games, apps, and social activities, will be unavailable. ” For players who can log into their accounts on the console, online games are unable to connect and display their own Xbox login errors, while others have reported issues with features such as remote gaming.
As of 8:20 PM ET, Xbox also said the outage affected the Xbox Store and subscriptions. “You may not be able to purchase the game to own it now,” according to the status message.
“We are seeing improvements with sign-in, but the impact on matchmaking and completing purchases continues,” an Xbox support account said on X at 8:06 p.m. ET.
It’s unclear if there’s any connection, but Microsoft is working on a number of other outages as well. As of approximately 5:56 p.m. ET, Microsoft reported issues with “multiple Azure services in the Central US region.” The company is also dealing with Microsoft 365 issues that may prevent users from accessing “various Microsoft 365 apps and services,” but as of 10:29 p.m. ET, it said the situation is improving.
The issues have had a significant impact on Frontier Airlines, which said on its website and on Aviation Administration grounded Frontier flights but canceled ground stops after 10 p.m. ET.
This outage follows another outage earlier this month that prevented users from playing online games for several hours.
