Young black Americans in town for the Philadelphia Pop Festival publicly expressed their displeasure with President Joe Biden.
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that it spoke to about 30 young black voters at a weekend event called “Roots Picnic,” a popular music festival hosted by the city’s hip-hop group The Roots. A majority of voters told the media they don’t support Trump for president, but they don’t want Biden either.
“It’s really hard to vote because neither candidate is a good person. Biden is too old. Trump is too racist,” William Carter, a 21-year-old resident of Rochester, New York, told The Washington Post newspaper, he said he did not plan to vote this year.

Black voters have traditionally been a reliable Democratic voting bloc, but some polls have shown cracks in that support.
Last week, polling by CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten showed Trump’s support among black voters had doubled in the 2020 election, when it stood at 10%.
Enten said Trump’s gains in the community could lead to him defeating Biden in 2024.
Some black celebrities, such as rapper 50 Cent, have recently admitted that African-American men seem to relate more closely to Trump than to Biden.
The Washington Post’s unscientific poll at Roots Picnic isn’t a strong indication of black voters’ support for Trump — since most of them denounced the former president — but rather an indication of their Biden’s disgust.
Many respondents disparaged both candidates, and only a few chose one over the other.
Lu Rattigan, a 28-year-old film producer from Philadelphia, told the Washington Post, “We’ve been through these two guys. They’re both liars. We need someone who actually keeps his word. Only then.” Both of them.
Pennsylvania resident Milan White called both candidates “filthy,” saying, “I feel like I’m going to vote because I don’t want Donald Trump, but I don’t want Biden there either. They’re both filthy.” .
Biden shows signs of dwindling in private meetings with congressional leaders: report
One voter, Brianna Jerome, 25, expressed some support for Trump but told The Washington Post she was undecided.
“He’s not my favorite Trump. But at the same time I appreciate his honesty… I think how Biden does, I don’t know – maybe we need to vote [Trump] and give it a try? He offers something… with potential. We picked a good guy and look what happened,” she said.
Others, like New York resident Ty Thompson, would never vote for the former president. She told the outlet, “I have no reason to like Donald Trump. He hasn’t done anything for us.”
Minneapolis resident Shanaya lashes out at Biden and Trump, saying ‘they’ve been lying to our community for years…I will definitely take advantage of my rights forever’ [to vote]because too many people died for justice.
However, she said, “But I don’t know who I would vote for. It would never be Donald Trump.”
“Honestly, I tend to [Trump] But hearing some things, I now have reservations. I’m not really looking forward to the election. … I don’t think anyone’s earned my vote,” Shavar Rush, 38, told the outlet.

Iyana Galloway, a human resources staff member, said she was “looking at third-party options,” adding, “My son told me about Robert Kennedy Jr. He liked him very much.
The Washington Post also quoted Barry Robertson Jr., a 35-year-old school administrator, who expressed some support for Trump and praised his “honesty” while describing Biden as old and frail.
“It comes down to honesty. Trump has been honest. Joe Biden has been mysterious from day one and the only thing you can really see is his health, and based on his health, I don’t believe he can get the job done.” Another four-year term,” he said.
